The Raw Materials



Exquisite raw materials are the secret of success for Sanatio Naturalis. We only use the highest-quality ingredients for our products and we place great importance on the origins of our raw materials. We travel the world in search of plants and oils. We collaborate with our preferred producers from all over the world.



Our lavender is grown at an altitude of 1400 meters in a rare and protected natural environment: the Verdon Valley, in the heart of the Alpes de Haute Provence. Also referred to as ‘blue gold”, lavender is the soul of Provence. 

Our Appellation D’Origine Contrôlée denotes the very highest quality production. Traceability is unassailable with the guarantee of origin and traditional quality.
It requires 180 kg of flowers to obtain just 1 kg of essential oil. 

Our essential oils are analysed and pass a double series of tests – both analytical and olfactory.



Our Neroli comes from Tunisia and has a wonderful aroma. Essence of Neroli is obtained by distilling the flowers of the bitter orange. One tonne of flowers are needed to produce just 1 kg of essential oil, orange blossom water the by-product of the distillation process.



This delicate, powerful flower is cultivated in Bulgaria. It is the queen of flowers. Farmers handpick the blossoms just after the morning dew and before sunrise. The petals are distilled to extract the rose oil and rosewater.

The rose has been revered since antiquity for its variety of beauty benefits. Four tonnes of rose petals are needed to obtain just 1 kg of essential oil.

Rose is a gentle but powerful aid, lifting the spirits and calming anxiety. It imparts a sense of security, wellbeing and of being loved.

It is cooling, soothing, nourishing and naturally anti-inflammatory with extraordinary anti-aging and healing effects.



The oil is extracted from the peel of the citrus fruit grown in Calabria in southern Italy. It boasts a unique and sunny quality, with notes of zesty florals and fruits and is known to refresh, lift your mood and ease stress. It is widely used in perfumery and also has deodorising properties.



Our jasmine comes from India and is a very delicate little white flower, picked early in the morning to capture its fragrance. Jasmine Absolute has an exquisite floral aroma to uplift and aid relax creating a wonderful sense of wellbeing. It can be used in the treatment of depression and is considered by some to be an aphrodisiac. Jasmine Absolute will also refresh and rejuvenate the skin.



Exotic, floral and sweet, our Ylang Ylang is grown in Madagascar. The oil is extracted from the flowers of the plant by steam distillation. Ylang Ylang is also known as “flower of flowers” or the “perfume tree”.

Ylang Ylang has a long history of use in skin and hair care and is widely used in oriental and floral perfumes.

The oil has a euphoric and relaxing effect on the nervous system and can help with anxiety, stress and depression. It is also known to be an excellent aphrodisiac.



Harvested in southern Italy, Lemon essential oil is extracted from the rind of the fruit by cold expression. 3,000 lemons are needed to produce 1kg of essential oil. The oil is fresh, cleansing, energising and uplifting.
